Well the Sooke Youth Council has some upcoming events that I am particularly excited about! :)
We've got another movie night coming up, but the date has not yet been confirmed.
Thanks to everyone who came out to our double feature this past Wednesday!
Anyways, on to what I'm really excited about...
Due to the job action affecting all of the teachers and many of the supporting staff there have been no dances at Edward Milne Community School, something that many students (especially grads) have been dissapointed about.

I'm glad to say that our first movie night was a success! Our next one is on Wednesday the 23rd ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes"), and then we plan on showing a double feature around December 7th! Wow, we are very busy! Vote for your favourite Christmas on our Facebook page! I'm so excited!

Well the SYC had a meeting today that went really well ! there were a number of people in attendance, and we talked and debated and brainstormed for almost 2 hours.
There are a number of cool things coming up that I hope some of you will be interested in becoming a part of...
1. Our next movie night, hopefully The Rise of the Planet of the Apes on November 23rd!
2. A Christmas Dance at the Community Hall hopefully on December 9th, in lieu of EMCS being able to have one because of the job action. Potentially in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce.

Well, I did say that I may not update my Blog that often. So, this October (hopefully) we may start the movie night project! Which movie would you like to see? The list is on the Films page.
Other than the movie nights, we are hopefully going to have more youth concerts, a workshops. There may even be more!

Well it's summer time, and I hope the livins easy for all of you.
The Sooke Youth Council takes a break over the summer, but I hope that anyone that reads this post will be looking forward to September, and looking foward to the youth council starting back up again.
The youth art night went really well last week, with our youth performers (Alyssa Blatchford, Hazen Price, Alex Leno, Norris Wass-Little & the Journey Band, Ella Ryan and Jordan Martin, Dyllon Pallot, and Daeun Chung. If you weren't there, you missed out !
